This was the second time in lower than every week when the ex-MP and former state BJP chief was absent from a programme of a prime BJP chief, the opposite being the general public assembly of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Alipurduar in northern West Bengal on Could 29.
Ghosh had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after the inauguration of the newly constructed Jagannath Temple in Purba Medinipur’s Digha, which triggered a significant row as a number of BJP leaders accused him of cosying as much as the TMC supremo and betraying the emotions of social gathering rank and file.
Although Ghosh had maintained that he had each proper to go to a spot of worship and none may query his integrity and credentials as a BJP loyalist, the controversy refused to die down and the previous state unit president was not invited to any programme of the social gathering in a while.
“No, I’ve not been invited to Amit ji’s programme on June 1. It does not matter. There are some people who find themselves at all times seen with social gathering heavyweights. Once I was the state president, I used to accompany leaders like Amit ji to their programmes. Now, I might fairly be with the social gathering rank and file and work with the karyakartas,” he informed reporters on Saturday.
Earlier than Modi’s public assembly on Could 29, Ghosh had equally stated he was not invited by the state BJP management.On Sunday, Ghosh, accompanied by his spouse Rinku Majumdar, went to his in-laws’ residence.Talking to reporters there, he stated, “It isn’t obligatory or important to ask me to each assembly. I could also be invited to some assembly and will not be to some others.”
Requested about Ghosh’s absence from key social gathering programmes, BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar informed reporters, “Dilip da is a veteran chief. I am unable to actually touch upon his absence.” PTI SUS ACD
