RBI Doubles Open Market Operation Purchase Auction To Boost Liquidity

The Reserve Financial institution of India has determined to conduct open market operation buy auctions of presidency bonds value Rs 40,000 crore as in comparison with Rs 20,000 crore on Thursday in view of the present liquidity situations, the central financial institution mentioned in a media assertion.

That is a part of the RBI’s particular liquidity announcement final month, whereby it determined to infuse liquidity value Rs 60,000 crore by way of OMO purchases in three tranches of Rs 20,000 crore every.

The RBI has already carried out the primary public sale on Jan. 30. For the upcoming public sale on Thursday, the central financial institution has revised the quantity upwards to purchase 5 gilts value Rs 40,000 crore. The third public sale of Rs 20,000 crore might be held on Feb. 20.

Different notified particulars of the OMO purchases public sale, which might be held on Thursday, stay unchanged, the central financial institution mentioned.

As of Feb. 7, liquidity within the banking system remained within the deficit of Rs 1.07 lakh crore.
