London Underground staff to strike in September

London Underground employees are set to strike in September.

London tube employees are set to strike over pay in early September in what trade chiefs have labelled a “damaging situation” for sluggish development throughout the capital. 

The rail union RMT mentioned on Thursday that rolling strike motion would start on Friday 5 September whereas Docklands Gentle Railway employees will strike from 8 September over separate disputes. 

Strikes throughout the London Underground are set to final for seven days. 

Union activists blamed Transport for London (TfL) executives for “excessive” shift rotations, points round journey preparations and pay. 

In addition they mentioned TfL bosses had did not “honour earlier agreements”. Workers will take industrial motion at completely different occasions based on their grade. 

The division between employees and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, who serves because the chair of the TfL’s board, had fuelled “widespread anger and mistrust”.
