The man who wrote the meme right here is referring to one thing referred to as the subjunctive temper, used primarily to state a contrary-to-fact conditional. He’s not in LA, subsequently we are saying, “If I had been in LA,” not “If I was in LA.” Equally, I might say, “If I had been president,” quite than “If I used to be president,” as a result of I’m not president.
