Sri Lanka embarkation levies net Rs26.8bn, up 39-pct as foreign travel rise | EconomyNext

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka common coconut costs rose 6.8 % on the weekly coconut public sale on Thursday, Coconut Growth Authority (CDA) knowledge confirmed.

The typical worth for 1,000 nuts was 138,581.96 rupees on October 2.

Nonetheless, CDA has continued to not declare the best or lowest worth for a nut on the weekly auctions.

“Solely the common worth is there,” CDA officers advised EconomyNext.

The variety of nuts provided climbed to 682,300 from 394,279 every week earlier, whereas nuts bought moved to 578,265 from 350,130.

Within the native market, the wholesale worth for a big nut was 180-190 rupees, whereas small nuts have been 150-170 a bit on October 2.

Retail costs for nuts have been between 195-205 rupees at supermarkets.

The Farmgate worth in Kurunegala was 125-150 rupees a nut.

Copra was 100,000 to 125,000 rupees per 250 kg.

Native wholesale costs of coconut oil have been 800,000 to 950,000 rupees per metric ton. (Colombo/Oct03/2025)
