Delhi’s air quality deteriorates to ‘very poor’, AQI readings ‘severe’ in places

After a two-day hole, Delhi’s air high quality plunged into the “very poor” class once more on Sunday, as winds within the nationwide capital that improved air pollution ranges the final couple of days misplaced its velocity. At 9 am, Delhi’s Air High quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 359, a marked improve from Saturday’s studying of 255, in line with knowledge from the Central Air pollution Management Board (CPCB).

Knowledge from 36 out of 40 monitoring stations was shared by the division. Amongst these, eight stations — Anand Vihar, Alipur, Bawana, Jahangirpuri, Mundka, Wazirpur, Vivek Vihar and Sonia Vihar have AQI readings within the “extreme” class, whereas the remaining 28 are within the “very poor” class.

An AQI between zero and 50 is taken into account ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘passable’, 101 and 200 ‘average’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘extreme’.

In keeping with the India Meteorological Division (IMD), wind velocity within the metropolis was calm at 0 kmph. Delhi’s air high quality had improved from ‘very poor’ to ‘poor’ class the final two days resulting from beneficial winds.

A layer of smog blanketed town within the early hours on Sunday, making visibility troublesome.


The minimal temperatures had been recorded at 20.1 levels Celsius, one notch above the season’s common. The IMD reported a humidity degree of 93 per cent within the morning.

The climate division has forecasted predominantly clear skies all through the day, with the utmost temperature anticipated to succeed in round 33 levels Celsius.
