Republicans have elected South Dakota Senator John Thune to be the subsequent Senate Majority Chief. With the GOP set to carry a 53-47 majority within the Senate, Thune will lead the cost for President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda within the chamber. Thune’s election marks a brand new chapter for the GOP, as he succeeds Mitch McConnell, who held the place for over a decade.
