Over 4.32 lakh households getting free power under PM Surya Ghar

Greater than 4.32 lakh households are estimated to be free of the cycle of paying month-to-month electrical energy payments as a result of set up of roof prime photo voltaic initiatives as a part of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Senior officers mentioned that the variety of households with zero electrical energy payments will develop additional because the variety of households below the PM Surya Ghar Yojna have elevated to 10 lakh, which was introduced earlier this week.

As of February 25, round 1.72 crore registrations have been performed, of which 45.84 lakh functions have been submitted. Installations have been performed in 9.05 lakh households.

The Ministry has launched subsidies to the financial institution accounts of about 6 lakh households. Aside from this, there’s additionally a provision to present incentives to Discoms. Incentives price Rs 2,000 crore have been launched.

The federal government has registered 12,257 distributors. Apart from, Discoms have waived the technical feasibility. Feasibility approval isn’t required as much as ten kilowatts.

For FY26, the scheme has been allotted a finances of ₹20,000 crore to finish 35 lakh installations equalling round 10.5 GW capability.

In FY25, which ends this month, the Ministry had set a goal of putting in solar energy initiatives on rooftops of 25 lakh households. Nonetheless, it expects to put in 12 lakh initiatives until March 31, 2025.

Below the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Ministry goals at solarizing one crore households by offering free electrical energy as much as 300 models each month via rooftop photo voltaic installations. The federal government has allotted round ₹75,000 crore and it needs to be carried out by FY27.

These 1 crore installations will generate about one lakh crore models of electrical energy and result in a discount of 72 crore tonnes of CO2 emission.
