Delhi strengthens EV push with 25 new low-cost charging stations

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and senior Aam Aadmi Get together chief Manish Sisodia on Wednesday inaugurated 25 low-cost EV charging stations in Mayur Vihar Section-1, officers stated.

The transfer is a part of the Delhi authorities’s broader technique to fight air pollution and promote using electrical autos (EVs), reinforcing the town’s standing as India’s EV capital, an official assertion stated.
Talking on the occasion, Atishi emphasised Delhi authorities’s dedication to fostering a sustainable future by a sturdy EV infrastructure.

“Delhi now boasts of greater than 2,400 EV charging factors, providing the bottom charges within the nation. It’s the motive why 12 per cent of all new autos registered in Delhi are electrical,” Atishi stated, including that the town can also be residence to the second-largest fleet of electrical buses globally.

The brand new charging stations managed by Delhi Transco Restricted took the overall variety of government-operated charging factors to 78, the assertion stated.

Every station options a number of charging factors designed to make sure accessibility and affordability for EV customers throughout the town, it added.

Praising the initiative as a step in the direction of making the capital a hub for inexperienced mobility, Sisodia stated, “These charging stations are the ability banks of a contemporary Delhi.
