Oman launches national health insurance platform

The Monetary Companies Authority (FSA) of Oman has formally launched the Nationwide Well being Insurance coverage Platform, often known as Dhamani, to supervise the operations throughout the nation’s medical health insurance market.

The platform is an digital system aimed toward simplifying the trade of medical health insurance data and claims processing between insurers and personal healthcare suppliers.

At a press convention, the FSA CEO Abdullah Salim Al Salmi detailed the platform’s regulatory features and its anticipated optimistic impression on the Sultanate’s medical health insurance system.

He identified that Dhamani is designed to enhance the Omani medical health insurance market and ease residents’ entry to well being providers.

Al Salmi confirmed the platform’s efficacy, as evidenced by its profitable pilot part.

Through the first quarter of 2025, Dhamani facilitated round three million medical health insurance transactions between insurance coverage companies and personal healthcare institutions.

The platform is now related to 33 non-public hospitals and three healthcare complexes.

Dhamani goals to handle a number of challenges confronted by insurance coverage stakeholders, making certain the supply of high quality medical health insurance providers and the well timed settlement of economic obligations to personal healthcare suppliers.

The platform can even preserve a database of medical circumstances, diagnoses, and coverings, which is able to allow authorities to conduct analysis aimed toward advancing the well being sector.

Al Salmi additional talked about that Dhamani at the moment serves over 650,000 medical health insurance policyholders and handles as much as 40,000 transactions every day.
