Sri Lanka sees foreign selling in rupee bonds after two-week buying | EconomyNext

ECONOMYNEXT – The Bettering Transparency for Sustainable Enterprise (ITSB) programme is about to reinforce the worldwide standing of Sri Lanka’s attire sector by embedding world greatest practices in ESG reporting throughout the sector, the Joint Attire Affiliation Discussion board (JAAF) stated.

The ITSB programme was launched by the World Reporting Initiative (GRI) South Asia, the Sustainable Improvement Council (SDC) of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Export Improvement Board (EDB), and JAAF. The programme is backed by the Swedish Worldwide Improvement Cooperation Company (SIDA).

“ITSB is designed to raise sustainability practices and transparency throughout South Asia’s textile and attire sector, positioning it for long-term resilience, profitability, and world management,” Rahul Singh, Senior Supervisor, South Asia, GRI, stated.

“Adopting the GRI Requirements – the world’s most generally used sustainability requirements, doesn’t solely elevate company transparency but additionally strengthens investor confidence, worldwide positioning, and regulatory preparedness — contributing to a extra clear and future-ready economic system.”

The programme comes at a time when world patrons are more and more prioritising traceability and moral sourcing, JAAF stated, with rising rules such because the EU’s Company Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) reshaping worldwide commerce.

Collaborating corporations will obtain coaching on the way to use the globally recognised GRI Requirements to report transparently on key sustainability matters together with labour practices, local weather affect, vitality use, financial affect, and waste administration, JAAF stated.
