Ara Partners Raises $800 Million to Invest in Mid-Market Decarbonization Infrastructure Providers – ESG Today

Industrial decarbonization-focused personal fairness investor Ara Companions introduced that it has raised greater than $800 million on the closing of the debut fund of its Ara Infrastructure technique, and related co-investment automobiles, geared toward investing in in mid-market decarbonization infrastructure property.

The fundraising considerably exceeded the fund’s $500 million goal.

Launched in 2022, the technique, led by Ara co-Heads of Infrastructure George Yong and Teresa O’Flynn, focuses on the “ignored center” of the low-carbon infrastructure market, focusing on essential property that should be constructed, repurposed or rebuilt, to decarbonize the commercial financial system, with the agency noting that the majority market investments to this point have flowed to large-cap and traditional renewables.

O’Flynn stated:

“This Fund permits us to pursue a generational funding alternative throughout Europe and North America, characterised by growing vitality and industrial demand, a transfer in direction of decentralized vitality methods, in addition to the necessity to guarantee an financial path towards a decrease carbon financial system.”

The technique has accomplished three investments to this point – with a fourth anticipated shortly – and owns 12 operational property throughout North America and Europe. Portfolio corporations embrace U.S.-based terminal providers supplier Lincoln, renewable gas feedstock and biofuel logistics infrastructure developer USD Clear Fuels, and Irish organics recycling firm Pure World Merchandise.

Yong stated:
