CBSE mandates CCTV with real-time audio-visual monitoring in schools to strengthen student safety

Central Board of Secondary Training (CBSE) has directed all colleges beneath its affiliation to put in high-definition CCTV cameras with real-time audio-visual monitoring, in line with a round launched on Monday.

The step is a part of a broader push to strengthen the security infrastructure for college kids throughout academic establishments.

The directive, issued on Monday, mandates the set up of cameras in key areas of faculty premises — together with lecture rooms, corridors, libraries, canteens, playgrounds, and entry/exit factors.

Faculties have been requested to make sure that the surveillance footage is preserved for no less than 15 days and stays accessible for evaluation by authorities if wanted.
