China sanctions 10 U.S. defense companies in tit-for-tat response to Pentagon’s Chinese military list | Fortune

China on Monday introduced sanctions on 10 American military-related firms in response to a latest U.S. transfer that bars some main Chinese language tech firms from protection contracts.

The Commerce Ministry mentioned that Chinese language firms can be blocked from exporting “dual-use” gadgets to the ten firms, which embrace navy drone makers and a few concerned in uncommon earth mining. Twin use refers to items that may have navy in addition to non-military purposes.

The ministry mentioned the export ban was each to safeguard China’s nationwide safety and in response to what it referred to as the U.S. authorities’s “wrongful growth of its so-called Checklist of Chinese language Navy Corporations.”

The ten firms are AVEOX in Simi Valley, California; Pink Cat Holdings and Teal Drones, each in South Salt Lake, Utah; IMSAR in Springville, Utah; Jaia Robotics in Bristol, Rhode Island; Ball Aerospace & Applied sciences in Broomfield, Colorado; Oshkosh Protection in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; L3Harris Maritime Providers in Norfolk, Virginia; MP Supplies in Las Vegas; and USA Uncommon Earth in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
