Quaise Energy Raises $134 Million to Build First-Ever Superhot Geothermal Power Plant – ESG Today

Geothermal power know-how firm Quaise Power introduced that it has raised $134 million on the first shut of a Sequence B funding spherical, with proceeds geared toward supporting the event of the world’s first industrial superhot geothermal energy plant.

Based in 2018 as a spinout from the Massachusetts Institute of Know-how, Cambridge-based Quaise develops options geared toward harnessing superhot geothermal power far under the floor, to allow energy technology that may rival the output of fossil gas and nuclear crops. The corporate makes use of a millimeter-wave drilling system designed to entry geothermal sources at depths and temperatures past the attain of typical drilling strategies.
