Metro tunnelling to begin next month

The Tel Aviv Metropolitan area Metro mission is getting into one in all its most important phases of implementation. Minrav Group has gained the tender to assemble the primary transport shaft of the M2 metro line – the purpose from which the tunnel boring machine (TBM) can be launched for the primary time to start digging the underground metro tunnels.

The transport shaft is a fancy engineering mission, which entails digging a pit about 35 meters deep, the peak of a 12-floor constructing. Building of the transport shaft will start subsequent month, and later, utilizing a particular crane, the TBM machine can be launched, which can perform the excavation of the Metro tunnels. The whole Metro mission will function 24 mining machines concurrently.

The 26 kilometer lengthy M2 line will embrace 22 stations, connecting Petah Tikva, Givat Shmuel, Bnei Brak, Givatayim, Tel Aviv and Holon, and can serve greater than 500,000 passengers day by day. Alongside the route are main demand facilities, together with Bar-Ilan College, Tel Aviv Hashalom and Ministry of Protection headquarters, Habima Sq., the Carmel Market, the Wolfson Medical Middle, and extra. Work will start within the Kfar Ganim space of Petah Tikva.

NTA head of M2 line directorate Adi Kain Carni stated, “Subsequent month, we’ll start setting up the metro’s first supply shaft. For us at NTA, this can be a important step on the best way to constructing the Metro, which can change the face of transport in Israel, enhance the standard of lifetime of thousands and thousands of residents and permit them to get round extra rapidly, effectively and extra conveniently.”
