Babcock shares surge as Starmer calls for ‘faster’ defence spend

Shares in Britain’s defence giants rallied on Monday morning as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer referred to as for Europe to “step up” on defence spending.

Babcock – which performs a key position within the UK’s nuclear submarine fleet in addition to naval, land and air operations – surged almost 4 per cent in early buying and selling to 1,346.00p.
