I’m what’s referred to as a democratic socialist, or social democrat — two synonymous phrases. This implies, in essence, that I hope the US can be part of the remainder of the developed world in extending sure advantages, like healthcare and schooling, to all our residents, within the method of most of Europe, Israel, Japan, and the remainder.
But, to be sincere, the meme right here isn’t honest. Capitalism does have an actual route. It’s making wealthy folks richer and poor folks poorer, and it happens on the expense of human welfare and ecology, together with full indifference to the world’s burning round us.
