Indian regulator rejects Apple request to put antitrust report on hold By Reuters

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – India’s antitrust physique has turned down a request from Apple (NASDAQ:) to place a maintain on an investigation report which discovered the corporate breached competitors legal guidelines, permitting the case to proceed, an inner order from the regulator seen by Reuters confirmed.

The Competitors Fee of India (CCI) in August ordered a recall of investigation studies after Apple stated the watchdog had disclosed industrial secrets and techniques to rivals within the case relationship again to 2021, together with Tinder-owner Match. These parts ought to have been redacted.

The CCI had requested events to return the studies and destroy any copies. The regulator then issued new studies.

The CCI inner order confirmed that Apple in November alleged that the primary complainant within the antitrust investigation – Indian non-profit Collectively We Struggle Society (TWFS) – had not complied with the directives to present an assurance that the outdated investigation studies had been destroyed.

Apple requested the CCI “to take motion in opposition to TWFS for non-compliance with its order” and “to withhold the revised” report, the CCI order, dated Nov. 13, seen by Reuters confirmed.

“Apple’s request to carry the investigation report in abeyance was deemed untenable,” the CCI stated within the order.

Apple didn’t reply to Reuters queries.

The CCI didn’t reply outdoors common enterprise hours on Sunday. Calls to representatives of TWFS went unanswered.
