Budget 2025: Customs duty halved on carrier grade ethernet switches

Within the Union Funds for 2025-26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a discount within the primary customs responsibility (BCD) relevant to provider grade ethernet switches from 20 per cent to 10 per cent.

“To stop classification disputes, I suggest to cut back the BCD from 20 per cent to 10 per cent on Provider Grade Ethernet switches to make it at par with Non-Provider Grade Ethernet switches,” the Finance Minister said throughout the finances speech.

The federal government has anticipated that non-tax income assortment from the telecom sector to be about Rs 82,443 crore for FY26, virtually 33 per cent decrease than the present fiscal, in accordance with the Funds paperwork.

Other than this, discount in private revenue taxes has been additionally introduced. “I’m now glad to announce that there will likely be no revenue tax payable upto revenue of Rs 12 lakh beneath the brand new regime,” Sitharaman said.

“This restrict will likely be Rs 12.75 lakh for salaried tax payers, as a result of commonplace deduction of Rs 75,000,” she provides.
