Ahold Delhaize Signs Renewable Energy Deal Covering 30% of its European Electricity Needs – ESG Today

Netherlands-based worldwide meals retailer Ahold Delhaize stated that it has entered right into a Digital Energy Buy Settlement (VPPA) with Spanish renewable power firm Bruc, supporting the financing and building of a cluster of 5 solar energy crops in Seville, Spain.

Supplying 460 GWh of energy per 12 months, the VPPA will cowl roughly 30% of Ahold Delhaize’s whole electrical energy calls for in its European operations, contributing to the corporate’s local weather targets, together with its goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions in its operations no later than 2040.
