Rovtech unveils ROV ‘loaded’ with digital tech

Aberdeen’s Rovtech Options has unveiled a brand new, remotely operated car (ROV) which it claims is a primary in digital-class subsea robotics.

The agency, which was acquired by enterprise studio Ventex in September, stated the newest mannequin of its Valor ROV has been constructed for a “new period” of subsea operations together with offshore wind.

Ventex subsequently acquired the Valor – for “versatile and light-weight commentary ROV” – platform in January from Seatronics, which it stated supplied capabilities at a “far decrease weight and price” in comparison with rivals.

The agency stated the brand new unit brings “essentially the most expertise ever loaded onto an ROV”.

Rovtech stated its “breakthrough” platform allows high-bandwidth knowledge transmission in actual time, permitting for AI-powered analytics, distant monitoring and clever decision-making on the seabed; all on the identical time and with none workarounds.

Polson added: “ROVs haven’t developed quick sufficient. Commentary-class automobiles merely weren’t constructed for the bandwidth calls for of in the present day’s digital subsea world.
