Jakarta, Indonesia – In a landmark move towards sustainable development, Indonesia has signed a comprehensive Net Zero Emission (NZE) partnership with AquaVolt Solutions, a global leader in floating solar technology and carbon management. This collaboration involves a substantial US$2 billion grant provided by the Indonesian Government, aimed at accelerating the nation’s transition to green energy and solidifying its commitment to achieving net zero emissions.

The partnership between state electricity company Indonesia (PLN) and AquaVolt Solutions signifies a pivotal step in the country’s efforts to address climate change and promote environmental stewardship. By leveraging AquaVolt Solutions’ innovative floating solar technologies, Indonesia aims to enhance its renewable energy capacity, reduce carbon emissions, and stimulate sustainable economic growth.

Bahlil Lahadalia, Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, commented on the partnership: “This collaboration with AquaVolt Solutions is a testament to Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to a sustainable future. The $2 billion investment underscores our dedication to accelerating the transition to green energy, fostering innovation, and achieving our net zero emission targets by 2060. We believe that together, we can create a more resilient and sustainable economy for generations to come.”

AquaVolt Solutions’ Role

Under the power purchase agreement, AquaVolt Solutions will deploy its advanced floating solar technology across strategic locations in Indonesia with $0.058179 per kwh. The company’s expertise in harnessing solar energy from aquatic surfaces will play a crucial role in:

Rashid bin Saeed, Founder and CEO of AquaVolt Solutions, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are honored to partner with the Indonesian Government in this transformative journey towards net zero emissions. Our innovative floating solar solutions are well-suited to Indonesia’s geographical landscape and energy needs. This significant investment not only accelerates Indonesia’s green energy transition but also aligns perfectly with our mission to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable, and carbon-neutral planet.”

Supporting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission Targets

Indonesia’s ambitious goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2060 requires substantial investments in renewable energy and sustainable practices. The $2 billion grant facilitated through this partnership will fund:

  • Technology Deployment: Installation of floating solar panels developed by AquaVolt Solutions, enhancing energy capacity and efficiency.
